Short-term accommodation

Here we collect information and tips for those looking for a VFU accommodation in Dalarna. VFU is an abbreviation for workplace-based education and is common in vocational training such as nursing, teaching and social work.

Currently, there is no organized VFU accommodation for students who have difficulty commuting between their regular location and the VFU location. Therefore, we are working to establish contacts with actors in the county who can offer accommodation to students during VFU periods.

Region Dalarna sometimes offers accommodation to nursing students in Falun, Mora, Ludvika and Avesta, contact accommodation.dalarna@regiondalarna.se for more info. Note that there is a lot of competition for these accommodations and most of them go to medical students from other universities. There is no guarantee of getting accommodation through Region Dalarna and therefore we have listed below tips on other accommodation options, which we have been in contact with.

Falun

Kopparstaden can offer accommodation for shorter periods in case of vacancies.

Tunabyggen can offer accommodation for shorter periods when vacancies arise.

Rättvik

Rättviksgården offers individual rooms with a shared self-catering kitchen, shower and toilet in the corridor.

Please contact us. info@rattviksgarden.se and let them know that you are from Dalarna University, and they will try to offer you a student discount. It is also possible to share a room with a friend to get an even lower price.

Note! Only open February-October.

Kullan offers rooms with access to a kitchenette. Shared shower and toilet, 650 SEK/night. Bookable via their website kullan.se.

Vansbro

Vansbrohem can offer accommodation for shorter periods if there are vacancies. Contact foundation@vansbrohem.se

Malung Folk High School can offer accommodation for shorter periods if vacancies arise. Contact

Malung camping can offer:

Mora

Saxviken Hostel offers rooms, both with private and shared shower & toilet. There are also rooms to share if students want to live together and get even lower prices.
