Conditions for the housing guarantee to apply

To be covered, you must:

• Be registered in the housing queue with Kopparstaden and Tunabyggen at the time of application (no later than 30 April for the autumn semester start and 31 October for the spring semester start).
• Be admitted to a programme of study at a minimum of half-time (15 credits per semester) at Dalarna University.
• Be registered as residing outside commuting distance (at least a one-hour one-way journey) from any of the University’s campuses.
• Be able to demonstrate that you have actively searched for housing on your own through the municipal housing companies.

Using the Housing Guarantee

To make use of the guarantee, you need to apply through xxx (via a link provided by the housing company, student union, or the university).

Your application must be submitted no later than 14 days before the start of the semester. Applications submitted later will be prioritised subject to availability. The guarantee applies to only one housing offer from Tunabyggen or Kopparstaden and does not apply if you decline to sign the tenancy agreement. The guarantee does not cover students with families or pets.

About the Accommodation Offered

• First, you will be offered student housing through Kopparstaden or Tunabyggen.
• Second, you may be offered a private residence or a room in a shared apartment/house through a private provider.
• Third, you may be offered temporary accommodation*, such as a dormitory.
• If temporary accommodation is provided, you will be offered alternative housing as soon as possible, as temporary housing is only for a limited period.

You will receive your housing offer no later than seven days before the start of the semester. The accommodation will be located no more than 30 minutes by public transport from one of Dalarna University’s campuses.

* Temporary accommodation involves a cost based on the number of nights.

The housing guarantee is offered and has been developed in collaboration with our partners—Dalarna University, Borlänge Municipality, Falu Municipality, Tunabyggen, and Kopparstaden—to ensure that you, as a student, have a secure start to your studies.
