Student union council
The student union council is our highest deciding body. It decides in fundamental issues to Dalarnas studentkår. The student union council consists of 25 representatives that are elected through elections that are open to every member in the Student Union. The representatives therefore represent all members of Dalarnas studentkår throughout their entire term. The delegate body normally have between two and three meetings each semester where it statutes the student unions economical and organizational plans for each year as well as different policies.
Presidium
The presidium of Dalarnas studentkår consists of the student unions president and vice president.
As elected president or vice president one takes a year of your studies to work fulltime with the issues that concern the students.
Employees
Dalarnas studentkår has two employees that help out in the day-to-day work of the student union. In our student reception we have one chancellery clerk that welcomes the students that come to visit us. The clerk can help out with questions about membership, the student union fee, receipts, rentals, the student union car and much more.
As a support to the people working non-profit in our organization our organizational secretary with tasks like preparing meetings, economy, handling incoming mail, being the secretary in several of the student unions meetings and several other tasks.
The student union board
The board is the part of the student union which decides in issues concerning the student union when the delegate body is not in session. The board’s main task is to execute decisions taken by the delegate body and to work in accordance with the statutes laid down by the body. The board together with the presidium forms a group of between 11 and 13 delegates that run Dalarnas studentkår.
Department
A department is a part of the student union with a specific task, given by the board of the student union. Every department is formed in a different way, in accordance to their size and need. They all have their own board but they have no members of their own.
Societies
Besides the departments there are also societies, consisting of students with a common interest. It could be anything between heaven and earth, as long as it does not stand in conflict with the general statutes of Dalarnas studentkår. Some societies are connected to specific educational programs and called program-societies. Those societies are responsible for monitoring the courses and programs of the education they are connected to.
Nominations Committee
For questions regarding elections within Dalarnas studentkår a nominations committee is elected every year. It is divided in two different bodies which together work and plan for different elections with the student union. One body is responsible for the election to the delegate body and the other one is responsible for the elections to the student union board, president and vice presidents.
Supporting organizations
To help the student union there are two supporting organizations to help out with issues regarding our two student union houses in Falun and Borlänge. For Studenternas hus Tenoren in Borlänge it is called “Stödgruppen Tenoren” (Support group Tenoren) and for Studenternas hus Kåre in Falun it is called “Föreningen Studenternas hus Kåre” (The society for Studenternas hus Kåre). These supporting organizations have helped the Dalarnas studentkår to acquire and maintain our two houses.
